Hi, I’m Janet Peterson. I have loved fabrics all my life. As a young girl, I remember my mother and my grandmothers sewing garments, curtains and quilts on our Sartell dairy farm. At age 8 Mom patiently began teaching me to sew doll clothes. It became my new passion! My great aunt Mary had a sewing business out of her home. She inspired me to begin dreaming of the possibility of sewing as a profession. I learned many skills from her and soon I was hooked!
Shortly after I married, I started a clothing alterations business in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. We have moved several times since then and I continued my business and passion for sewing. Projects have included wedding dresses, prom gowns, girls’ skating outfits, dancewear, theatrical costumes, drumline uniforms, window treatments and upholstery.
I have worked in several quilt shops and have been interested in quilting for many years. In 2010, I decided to take my 40 years of sewing experience and move into the world of quilting. I purchased a 26″ Innova longarm quilting machine on a 12′ frame. I love it! In 2014 I upgraded to computerized quilting and installed an IntelliQuilter. I’m very pleased with the additional options I can now offer with digital designs. In 2018 we returned home to Sartell where I am currently operating my business on the original farm property where I grew up.
